FT - The Say Word video series provides a raw and wide

spread view into blading culture. What inspires you to travel

the world and cover blading?

KO - Yes, Say Word is raw! I do it because I love it.

This is the life we've chosen for over 10 years now.

When I was younger, skate videos were such a big deal to me.

We literally studied them from front to back, song by song,

I want to keep that tradition going. I document what we do

for fellow rollerbladers everywhere and for the other people

who have no idea how dedicated we are. Rollerblading inspires

me to make videos. I make videos mainly for all the skaters

across the world who have been raised on this dope lifestyle.

FT - The term, Dirty South Dick Sandwich is well known in the south.

You care to elaborate on what exactly that means?

KO - Haha! It is just way harder down here to get exposure.

We need some sort of southeastern company to create a new

hub like skatepile did. That could help us stay in the mix a lil more.

FT - Charlotte is a small city but it along with the rest of the

Carolinas have always produced some of the best skaters in

the world. Dre Powell, Will Gordon, Tim Taylor and now guys

like Montre and Adam McManus. What is it about the southern

community that produces so many talented bladers?

KO - Honestly, its always puzzled me. Skating here is

typically really relaxed. When we go to other cities kids

skate super hard and competitive but all the representatives from

the south just do their own thing and it makes them stand out.

Plus, the people down here just got that flavor

which makes a world of difference, haha…

FT - Say Word 4 is coming, when and what can we expect?

KO - I want this video to be nothing like the last one.

I have a formula as far as how this one to come off but

it will remain RAW!!! The video will be out spring 2010, I’m not in any rush...

FT - You skate hard as fuck and do buck shit. How important is it for

The individuals guiding skate culture to actually skate?

KO - If the people running this culture don't skate than it won’t be real.

In my opinion, the people guiding skate culture should be the pros
and their companies should be a reflection of their views.
On another note,I wish I skated hard as fuck. The camera
has become my crutch and after this video I will probably put
the camera down for a while and just skate more.
I do have a couple clips for say word 4 though. Holler!
